The following supplemental information contains other financial data which supports information presennted in the principal statements and the accompanying notes.
Gross Appropriated Accrued Expenditures are fiscal year operating expenses for the various programs and projects housed at the Johnson Space Center. The increase of 23% to these expenses occurring in FY 1997 is primarily due to expensese that were previously recorded at other installations. The change happened when NASA consolidated the Space Flight Operations into one contract at this center. Another factor in the change is the increase in International Space Station hardware elements.
Funded Changes in Capitalized Assets and Inventory is the increase or decrease during the fiscal year to the balance of asset and inventory accounts. During FY 1997 the balance to these accounts increased because of the consolidated Space Flight Operations Contract and because of the increase in International Space Station hardware elements. The Funded Changes are also displayed by appropriation.
